It is Thursday evening and Mom is asleep. She comes home from the daycare center eats, watches a little television, and goes to bed. When Mom lies down, she says she is only going to sleep ten minutes, but she always sleeps all night.
During the week, Mom eats most of her meals at the center. There are activities and other things in which she can participate. When Mom comes home she seems happy, at least most of the time; Mom does not remember much of what she does, but that is the Alzheimer’s disease.
Going to the daycare gets her out of the house, which helps because she comes home in a nice mood. Sometimes she comes home crying, but that is the Alzheimer’s disease. Fortunately, Mom does not realize she has it. I think that is a blessing for her, it is difficult for me because I have to be careful what I say.
