Oatmeal time of year
my bones notice morning's chill
breakfast scatters cold.

I always think of autumn and winter as oatmeal time. When I was a child my grandmother always fixed oatmeal on cold Oklahoma mornings. I fixed oatmeal this morning; I think I have enough left to have oatmeal hot cakes tomorrow.
