Each star has planets
Each planet has its own life forms

Meditation on the Existence of God

There is a timeless quality about life--
about living--
which extends beyond what I know,
and what I feel.

It extends into an unknown realm;
existing between illusion and reality,
between dreaming and waking,
between death and life.

There is more to life than anything I have experienced,
anything I have imagined.

It is not that I am missing something,
rather something exist which I cannot grasp,
and cannot comprehend.

This something I call God.

He exist,
though not in the same way as I,
He is beyond all I know,
all I see,
all I feel.

Without God there would be no Universe,
no Life.

The Word of God

There is Power in the Word!
Power to create
a new world out of the ashes of the old;
to bring order out of chaos.

There is Love in the Word!
Love that binds
one heart to another;
that creates an new humanity.

There is Peace in the Word!
Peace that passes all understanding;
that creates a world free of war,
with citizens free of fear.

There is Justice in the Word!
Justice which is God's best beloved;
allows individuals to see withe their own eyes,
and know of their own knowledge.

There is Life in the Word!
Life that survives physical death;
that carries the soul beyond material existence
into the Abha Paradise.

Lie Exists

The miracle is that life exists!
It exists as coral on the ocean floor,
It exists as flowers in a hidden meadow,
and as trees on a snow capped mountain peak.

Life exists concealed in empty space!
It exists hidden from human eyes,
It exists concealed in the stone of comets,
It exists hidden as modules in asteroids,
and as living creatures on distant planets.

Life exist in the midnight of our fears,
It exists in the awesome joy of our hopes,
And in every direction of reality.

Life exists as a procedure to the enlightened,
It exists as a confirmation to the faithful,
And as instructions to the seeker.

Life exist in every corner of the universe;
It exists in every possible and impossible echo system;
And in an incalculable amount.

Life exists as humanity:
Humanity a single group,
and a single species sharing one planet.

Life exists under strenuous conditions,
That give a poet pause to think
and to immediately express the universe:
"We are the universe expressing itself!"

Meditation on Life in the Universe

Matter's spiral connects
gender to gender,
forming the double helix
that connects generation to generation.

Life is a spiral ascending
the ladder of evolution;
ring by ring Being climbs
out of the mire of matter.

Nebula by nebula
planetary systems condense:
are born into the realm of matter.

Star by star
life forms advance:
climb the spiral of evolution.

To Know and Love God

To know and love God:
This is the purpose of life!

To know and love God,
We seek His Unknowable Essence,
Through His Manifestation
The mirror reflecting His divine light.

Water of Life

His words
is the water of life
nurturing the orchard of humanity.

Living a Baha'i Life

To live a Baha'i life
One must live one day at a time.

To live a Baha'i life
One must strive to live as Baha'u'llah commands.

To live a Baha'i life
One must take one step at a time.

To live a Baha'i life
One must intone a teaching prayer each day.

To live a Baha'i life
One must plant seeds one heart at a time.

Thursday Thoughts on Life

Someone, I forget who, said that "life is a journey, not a race". I'm thankful for that because with my walker I can race very fast. Come to think about it, I never was very fast or athletic. I always preferred reading, listening to music, or picnicking as opposed to playing sports. I enjoyed going to The Lake ( don't know if it had a name because we always called it The Lake) with my grandparents and  swimming around their boat dock.

I never was a very good swimmer, but since we always wore lifejackets I didn't think it matter. In the summer, we would go to The Lake where we would swim, waterski, and fish off the boat dock. That was fun, especially around the Fourth of July because we always stayed the night so that we could set off fire works. Grandpa always made sure we celebrated Independence Day.

I was going to write more about how we celebrated Independence Day and other holidays with my grandparents. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by a telephone call. The call was about mindfulness and positive thinking. These two are important because without them a person will be unhappy and depressed all the time which has an effect on a person's health. Anyway the gist of the message is that this week I'm supposed to be mindful of what's troubling me. If I can do something about it, I need to. If I can do anything about the problem then I need to let it go. Letting go is an important  part of life's journey because it helps a person's physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Midweek Reflections on Writing about My Life Experience

'Idal (Justice), 17 Kalimát (Words), 172 BE - Wednesday, July 29, 2015 about 5:24 am Pacific Daylight Time

The July 29, 2015 edition of the writing.com spiritual newsletter ask: "What are your life's experiences and how have they changed or affected your writing?" After contemplating this question I realized that my life experience has affected my poetry. I write all genres of poetry, but the majority of poems are spiritual, bitter love poems, and poetry of the tortured soul.

I have had a rather interesting life. I remember the trauma of my parent's divorce. I remember the verbal and sexual abuse of a stepfather. I remember the joy of being with my grandparents. I remember sitting in the hospital room next to my maternal grandfather the day he died. I remember having two different dreams about the return of Christ. I remember getting pregnant and giving my daughter up for adoption. I remember finding out my father had died when I did an internet search for him. All of these experiences go into my poetry and some of them into my stories.

As I write this entry, I realize that I am a bit nervous. I always get nervous when writing about personal and emotional experiences. This is a good sign because it means that I am dealing with experiences and the emotions in a positive way by writing about them. Used to keep things like this bottle up without either speaking or writing about them. No more! While I may not speak about them, I do write about the experiences and the emotions. It is easier for me to deal with these thing in writing rather then any other way. Writing is a positive response to the emotional issues of my life experiences.

Making Lemonade – Part 1

Jamál (Beauty), 15 Mulk (Dominion), 166 BE – Sunday, February 21, 2010 about 1:03 PM Pacific Time

Life isn't easy and I don't think it's meant to be easy because in this world we develop spiritual attributes. These spiritual attributes cloth a person's soul (spirit) when the physical body dies and the soul ascends to the next world. Each individual encounters tests and difficulties during his or her lifetime in this world. These tests and difficulties help strengthen the spiritual attributes, which go with the soul when it separates from the physical body.

Sometimes it seems instead of encountering one test or difficulty at a time a person encounters an entire orchard of them. I'm walking through one of those orchards of test and difficulties now. I suspect I have an entire orchard of lemon trees (figuratively) planted in my backyard, so the only thing I can do now is make lemonade.

Sometimes I feel it's almost too much to deal with, but I don't think God tests a person beyond his or her capabilities. I think the best way to deal with this orchard of tests and difficulties is to take one tree (one test) at a time, which explains the title of this post. Over the next few day/weeks, I'm going to be looking at some of these test and difficulties on individual basis, all of which concern conditions many people confront at present or will confront in the near future.

Life is a learning process

Istijlál (Majesty), 16 Sharaf (Honor), 165 BE – Thursday, January 15, 2009 about 11:29 AM Pacific Time

Life is a learning process. Learning new things is part of the process of transformation. I learned at least two things this week. First, check the health insurance for things like the way they handle referrals to other doctors. Second, when it comes to eye infections, go to an eye doctor and not your regular GP.

I've known for a while that Mom's eye problem was more then just needing glasses. I made an appointment with an eye doctor and took her to see him. They accepted her medical insurance. However, she needed to go to a retinalgist and her insurance specific the group of eye doctors she has to have a referral from. So I made another appointment for next Monday for her to see a doctor in that group. I had the doctor we went to fax the information to their office and I'll take a copy of what I have with me.

As for her eye infection, it was more involved then what we thought. The eye doctor gave her a prescription and we're putting the drops in her eyes twice a day. However, she is going to have to go to another doctor, which means a referral, because of a blocked tear duct.

I guess this just goes to show that you never stop learning. No matter how old you are there is always something new you can learn. I'm not sure how I can apply this week's lessons to my own life, but I'll figure that out.

I am Planning my Funeral

Istiqlál (Independence), 15 Kamal (Perfection), 165 B.E. – Friday, August 15, 2008 about 3:20 PM PDT

Before anyone who knows me panics because of the title I am planning on living to be at 100 years old. I am not all that ill, it's just that I am being practical. Death is a part of life and I want the "Celebration of my Life", which will occur after my soul has ascended to the next world to be stress free for my survivors. Therefore, I am planning my funeral, this way the only thing my kin has to do is go to the celebration and, possibly, fight over there share of my fortune.

All right, I don't have a fortune, but that doesn't mean I don't have anything to leave my kin. I still have my will to write, so hang in there folks you may get something besides my best wishes after all. I got a book today called "Personal Planning Guide", which templates to put in the information needed after my soul departs from my body.

I am going to filling out the templates this evening, after I am finished working online. I do not want anyone worrying or wondering about what my last wishes were. I remember my grandparents' funerals and planning them was stressful because there was a lot that I didn't know at the time. I don't want my family to go through the stress of wondering if they are doing the right thing when my time comes.

In addition, to everything in the template, I have some poems I want read at the funeral. I also want copies of some of the poems given to those who attend. I'm not sure what else to say about this subject. Just be assured that I'm well at this time and planning on living to be at least 100.

Life is a Ditzy Internet Connection

8 'Ilm 164 B.E. - Tuesday, October 23, 2007 about 10:04 AM PDT

It's windy in Las Vegas and my phone connection to my Internet provider is acting up more than usual. I realized this morning that's how life is sometimes. There are moments in my life when I'm suddenly disconnected the the Source of faith and inspiration. In those moments my life falls apart.

Connecting to the Source

When I'm disconnected from the Source, the fault is mine. In times of disconnection I find that I allow material details to come between myself and God. In those time I need to reconnect and reconnect immediately with God. How do I reconnect? Through prayer and meditation.

The prayers and scriptures revealed by Baha'u'llah and the Bab are excellent reconnectors. I can sit down, read or recite a prayer and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. I like to meditate and use the prayers of the Bab and Baha'u'llah during those times of disconnection. The reason is that I've found them the quickest way to become reconnect with the Source.
