Think before you speak
Your words hove the power to
Create or destroy

The Word of God

There is Power in the Word!
Power to create
a new world out of the ashes of the old;
to bring order out of chaos.

There is Love in the Word!
Love that binds
one heart to another;
that creates an new humanity.

There is Peace in the Word!
Peace that passes all understanding;
that creates a world free of war,
with citizens free of fear.

There is Justice in the Word!
Justice which is God's best beloved;
allows individuals to see withe their own eyes,
and know of their own knowledge.

There is Life in the Word!
Life that survives physical death;
that carries the soul beyond material existence
into the Abha Paradise.

Power of God

The power of God
Is sufficient for the job
Of creating a world community
Living in peace and unity.

The sun turns the sky pink
with the new born rays of light.

The Power Within

Fear makes a tight knot in my belly
Helpless I cower within my self-made prison
Unable to overcome my own weaknesses

I'm not alone
I'm created in God's image
the power to overcome is within

Each of God's Manifestations
Have given the same advice
In different words
Each has come to help humanity evolve

To help us step beyond our prisons of self
To overcome our own weaknesses
To find the Power of God
That lies within the human soul

Within each human being
God has placed His image

Within each of us
The Almighty ha place
The power to overcome our own fears

The voices of God's Chosen Ones
Echo down the corridors of history
Repeating each in his own language

Look within
Know yourself
Look not at your own weaknesses
Place your complete trust in God
You can overcome

I feel the knot loosening
Hear the prison doors opening
See the chains falling

A New Creation

Recreated through the power of God.
Humanity walks naked through creation's fire,
Emerging a new race - reborn from the ashes of the old.

Paradise echoes with a new song;
The Universe, compressed into its primordial atom,
explodes into a new existence.

Purged of the maladies of matter,
We rise to meet our Lord in the air;
We stand holding a new name written upon a white stone.

Power flows through the
hair thin conduits of love
titanium strong.

Summer in Las Vegas

It's summer in Las Vegas. I have the thermostat set at 79 degrees, which means the central air doesn't come on until the temperature reaches about 86 or 87 degrees. I haven't checked to see when the air comes on, I'm going to have to do that because I may have to set the thermostat slightly lower. I'll have to decide that after I see the next power bill.

The hottest temperatures in Las Vegas are in August. The bill will probably be high in July (which isn't due until August 6) and August (that is due September6). A year or so ago I have due date changed from the third week of the month to the first or second week (depending on when the 6th falls).

The power bill is now due a few days after the largest check hits the bank account. This helps; also, the past few bills have been under $200.00. Since I haven't see the next bill yet, I don't know how much it is, but I suspect it will be higher then the bill due on July 6. Fortunately, we're caught up on the power bill; therefore, I can put that out of my mind for a while and deal with other issues.

Feast of Qudrat 164 B.E.

I attended the Feast of Qudrat last night at the home of a friend. I always like attending Feast whether it is in some one's home or at the Baha'i Center. Qudrat, which means power, is the 13th month of the Baha'i Calendar.

The theme for last nights Feast was love. The readings chosen were from the writings of 'Abdu'l-Baha. They concerned the four types of love.

The Four Types of Love

The first type is the love from God to humanity. This type of love is the source of all the graces and attributes of God.

The second type is the love going from humanity to God. This is faith and it attracts the divine bounties.

The third type is God's love for the identity of God Himself.

The fourth type is the love of the individual human for another. This type of love exists between the souls of humanity.
