Tuesday Thoughts: Contemplating Words and Spirituality

Fiḍál (Grace), 1 Kalimát (Words), 173 BE - Tuesday, July 12, 2016 AD about 2:29 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Thinking in pictures
I contemplate the words that
Create a poem

In the month of Words, I think about writing a prose poem about spirituality. I contemplate the meaning of spirituality in the context of my soul. I think about the sacred scriptures revealed throughout the millennia of humanity spiritual evolution. I wonder if there was a time in the spiritual history of the species when humanity had difficulty accepting the existence of a single divine creative force.

I contemplate the meaning
Of Divine unity
And its relationship to
Humanity's search for truth.

It is the month of Words and words is an attribute of God. I think about the beginning of the Universe, of the Cosmos, when God spoke the word BE. God spoke the word BE and brought creation into existence. In the beginning, the Divine Creative Force – the force that we humans call God – brought  the universe we know into existence by speaking a word, by saying BE and primordial atom exploded. Whatever happened after the Divine Essence spoke BE it lead to the universe as we know it or are attempting to know it today.

I contemplate the human soul
And realize that I,
Like the rest of the human species,
Am a spiritual creature having
A material, a physical, experience.

Tuesday Thoughts on the first of Ilm

Fidal (Grace), 1 Ilm (Knowledge), 169 B.E. - October 16, 2012 about 10:00 A.M. Pacific Time

It is the first of Ilm (Knowledge) and I am home alone. Mom is at the adult daycare center where I think she is having fun. When Mom comes home from the daycare I usually ask her what she did, but often she cannot remember. That is the way Alzheimer's disease works, it devastates the short-term memory. It does other things as well, but the short-term memory lose is the most obvious.

Tonight when Mom goes to bed I will turn on the oxygen compressor and put it on her. I do not know how long she will keep it on, so I will have to check every hour or so. In addition, to the oxygen I have to wake her up about 8:00 P.M. and give her a pill. I know the meds can just do so much; eventually the Alzheimer's will take my mother from me.

I want to cry, but I am not sure it would do any good. Crying will not bring my mother's memory back. Crying will not stop the spread of the disease. Crying may help me deal with my emotions for a little while, but eventually I have to accept what is waiting in the future. Eventually I have to accept the loneliness, some of which I am feeling now. I feel lonely because I cannot carry on an intelligent conversation with my mother. The only thing I can do is put everything in God's hands and do what I can do to make Mom as happy as she can be under the circumstances.

Tuesday Thoughts: People ringing my door bell in Las Vegas

Fidal (Grace), 11 'Izzat (Might), 169 B.E. - Tuesday, September 18, 2012 about 11:48 AM Pacific Time

I am 65 years old and sometimes it is difficult to get around quickly. It takes me more then three seconds to get to the front door. If someone rings the bell that person needs to wait at least five minutes for me to answer. A man just ring my doorbell and did not wait even five minutes for me to answer. This is the second time this month this person had did. I know it is the same person because I am sitting at my computer, which is situated so that I can look out the living room window.

This is a man somewhere between thirty-five and fifty. He always wears the same dirty clothes; therefore, I suspect he is homeless. I also suspect he is looking for either a handout or yard work. Apparently, he does not want either of those very much because he never waits more then three or four seconds after ringing the doorbell. There is no question that I am home because the car is parked in the garage and the garage door is open.

Most people who ring my doorbell wait at least five minutes before leaving. If the they see the car is in the garage or sitting in the driveway then they wait a bit longer. It is nice when they wait for me to answer the door because I like talking to people and I do not get out very much. The only people I get to talk to are those who come to the door or call me on the phone.  I suppose if someone does not  want to wait for me to answer the door then I am not missing an interesting conversation.

Tuesday Thoughts on Pennies from Heaven

Fidál (Grace), 11 Jamál (Beauty), 169 BE – Tuesday, May 8, 2012 about 12:50 PM Pacific Time

Pennies from heaven are pennies that you find laying around, usually on the ground. I have a small prescription bottle sitting by my computer labeled “Pennies from Heaven” in which I put all my pennies. I do not limit the pennies to those I find lying around on the ground. I remove the pennies I get in change and put those in the bottle as well.

The “Pennies from Heaven” bottle is almost full, so I need to decide what I am going to do with them. I have them changed into dollars and spend them, but there is not enough for that. I am going to transfer them to a medium sized plastic juice bottle and fill that. Once I have the juice bottle filled then I will get the pennies changed into dollars.

Tuesday Thoughts: I have decided to wear red and purple

Fidál (Grace), 2 Jalál (Glory), 169 BE – Tuesday, April 10, 2012 about 2:55 PM Pacific Time

Normally, when I leave the house, I wear black; a long black dress that goes down to my ankles. However, black is a depressing color and unsuited for the summer heat in Las Vegas. Therefore, I have decided to wear red and purple when I leave the house because they are “happy” and out going colors. At least, I feel happy and out going when I wear them.

I am tired of dressing as if I am in mourning, so I am going to wear brighter colors. Since I have only two red dresses, I have to go shopping for some new clothes. I will probably go to the second hands stores and buy some pre-owned clothes. The may not be new, but they will be new to me. In addition, I need to buy some sunscreen.

When I returned home today, I noticed that my arms were a bit sunburned. It was not a bad burn; my arms were slight pink. Tomorrow when I go to the wound doctor, I will stop at a store and buy some sunscreen. I am not sure whether I want the spray on type or the cream. I will have to read the labels to find out. Just because I want to wear, red does not mean I want my arms or my face sunburned.

Tuesday Thoughts on my change in themes

My goal is to write a 200-word entry everyday on the theme of the day. If possible, I will post a photo or graphic with the entry. Sometimes this will be possible, but not everyday until I get my digital camera. I still have about 11,000 points before I can order the camera. I have a camera on my phone; unfortunately, I cannot use the phone to send photos to my e-mail account. All right, I did not research the phone before buying it.

I will post an entry between 12:01 AM and 11:59 PM everyday. I am giving myself enough time to deal with interruptions, slow computer, proof reading, and research. The interruptions and the slow computer are the biggest issues I encounter on a daily basis. If the first entry I make does not total 200 words then I will make a second entry for that day.
