The doorbell woke me up about 3:30 AM. I got up, put on a robe, and answered the door. No one was there, so I closed the door, took my thyroid medication, said a morning prayer, and turned on the computers. Since the bell ring only once it is possible it was part of a dream or my subconscious waking me up. Whatever causes this phenomenon it has been occurring every 30 to 90 days since 2007 or 2008.
I am not worried, but I am not used to it happening. I still get up and go to the door to see if anyone is there. I know it is not a good idea to open the door like that, but the security screen is locked. I an not sure why I open the door, I suspect it is curiosity or the fact that I have had relatives ring my doorbell at odd hours of the day and night.
Normally, when this happens I go back to bed (or in my case I lay down on the couch) and go back to sleep. This morning I could not go back to sleep because I was wide awake and I have projects that I have to complete today. I will take a nap this afternoon if I get sleepy, otherwise I will pack couple of trunks and finish some writing projects.

Tuesday Thoughts: People ringing my door bell in Las Vegas
Fidal (Grace), 11 'Izzat (Might), 169 B.E. - Tuesday, September 18, 2012 about 11:48 AM Pacific Time
I am 65 years old and sometimes it is difficult to get around quickly. It takes me more then three seconds to get to the front door. If someone rings the bell that person needs to wait at least five minutes for me to answer. A man just ring my doorbell and did not wait even five minutes for me to answer. This is the second time this month this person had did. I know it is the same person because I am sitting at my computer, which is situated so that I can look out the living room window.
This is a man somewhere between thirty-five and fifty. He always wears the same dirty clothes; therefore, I suspect he is homeless. I also suspect he is looking for either a handout or yard work. Apparently, he does not want either of those very much because he never waits more then three or four seconds after ringing the doorbell. There is no question that I am home because the car is parked in the garage and the garage door is open.
Most people who ring my doorbell wait at least five minutes before leaving. If the they see the car is in the garage or sitting in the driveway then they wait a bit longer. It is nice when they wait for me to answer the door because I like talking to people and I do not get out very much. The only people I get to talk to are those who come to the door or call me on the phone. I suppose if someone does not want to wait for me to answer the door then I am not missing an interesting conversation.

The Doorbell Ring at Midnight Again
Jalál (Glory), 4 Asma (Names), 165 B.E. – Saturday, August 23, 2008 about 1:03 AM PDT
It happened again, the doorbell ring at midnight and woke me from a sound sleep. The last time it happened was on Friday, July 25, 2008 that was twenty-nine days ago. The post The Doorbell Ring at Midnight is in Poet 999's Thoughts about Writing and Other Stuff.
The doorbell ring three time and woke me from I sound sleep. I got out of bed, went to the front door, looked out and saw no one. I opened the door and looked out, but still saw no one. However, I did hear the neighbor's dog barking. As soon as daylight comes, I will go outside and look around, but I am not going out in the dark.
If I had something to carry with me, such as a baseball bat or a golf club, then I would go out now and check. Since I lack either of those items, I am going to remain in the house until after dawn. Therefore, instead of checking outside, I am making a blog entry, which is the safer of the two alternatives.
I am wide-awake so there is no use me going back to bed. There are certain noises that bring me into full consciousness immediately. One of those is a doorbell ringing in the middle of the night and the other is a crying baby.
It is odd, I the neighbor's dog can bark all night and I can sleep through the noise. A jet fighter can buzz the house and the noise will wake me up, but I go back to sleep almost immediately. However, a doorbell and a crying baby will prevent me from going back to sleep. The crying baby I can understand, it has something to do with maternal instinct. The ringing of a doorbell has me perplexed; I have no idea why I cannot go back to sleep.

In the Weary Morning
Istiqlál (Independence), 13 Kalimat (Words), 165 BE – Friday, July 25, 2008 about 4:40 AM PDT
I was really tired when I went to bed last night about 10:30 PM. Somewhere between 11:15 PM and 1:15 AM, my doorbell ring three times. I woke up from a sound sleep, set straight up and looked around. Then I got up and went to the front door. I looked out the door's window, my front door has a nice little window and not a peep hole. There was no one standing on my front stoop, so I opened the door. I had locked the screen door from the inside before I went t bed.
The only things I saw, were the trashcans setting under the stone pine tree. The trashcans were setting there before I went to bed last night. I then went to the living room and looked out the window. My car was still setting in the driveway, so I got the keys, unlocked the screen door and went out to the car. I rolled up the car windows, checked to see that Mom's walker was still in the back seat and locked the car. I lock the car before sunset from now on.
I still don't know whether I actually heard the doorbell or if it was part of a dream. I've been having some really intriguing dreams lately. Wednesday I dreamed I heard my sister's voice in the house she was talking to Mom. Thursday I dreamed there was a big wind and it destroyed some cactus Mom had in the backyard (there are no cactus in the backyard except in my dreams). Last night I dreamed about people doing something and then the doorbell ring.
I don't think the doorbell was part of my dream, but you never know. When I went outside to roll up the car windows and lock the car, I heard police sirens. Of course, sirens aren't anything unusual in Las Vegas, we hear them all the time. Still the events of last night was disturbing, unfortunately I won't be able to take a nap until late this afternoon.
Before I went back to sleep I said a prayer of protection. I said a prayer before I went to sleep the first time, but I don't remember if it was a protection prayer. Another thing I am going to do every night before going to bed. I will say one the protection prayer revealed by the Bab.
