All right, waiting for a bus can be tiresome. True I have a book with me and a journal to write in, but waiting is still tiresome. I'm taking the Paratransit bus to work and back home again. For the last week the bus has been late picking me up from work, but reading and journal writing helps pass the time.
I'm not sleeping well, so perhaps that's part of the reason I'm tired. I think I just need to relax a little and unstress. I'm not sure how to do that, but I intend to find out. I would really like to have is a home office to do my work in rather then sitting in the loving room. We do have a spare room, but I think I'm going to make it into another bedroom and see if I can rent it out.
To turn the spare room into a bedroom would mean buying another bedroom set. Turning it into an office would mean having another telephone line put in. I'll have to check and see which is cheaper. It might be cheaper to turn it into an office. I already have a computer desk and chair, all I would need is another phone line put in.
Having a home office would mean fewer distractions. Having another phone line would mean that people could actually get through to me on my regular phone. On the other hand, renting the room out would mean more money. I'll have to check and see what else is necessary to rent the room out. Either choice would go a long way in helping me unstress and I wouldn't be as tired at sunset.

Life is a challenge
Fidál (Grace), 9 ‘Izzat (Might), 165 B.E. – Tuesday, September 16, 2008 about 3:48 AM Pacific Time
Life is a challenge
24/7
a joyous experience.
I'm in a journaling contest at writing.com called "Follow the leader". Each day one of the participants writes a leading entry in his or her blog and the rest of the participants respond to the entry in their blogs. This contest started on September 11 and ends on October 1. I'm put my responses in my writing.com blog Snow Melt. My leading entry in this contest was on September 12 with the title "Coffee and Chocolate".
I'm also scheduled to participate in the "7 Day Journal Writing Challenge". I'm not sure when this challenge will start because there isn't enough participants yet. I'm going to use the same blog to write my responses to the challenges. Since the titles of each entry are a different format, there won't be a problem tell them apart.
I'm looking forward to the new contests. It's not that my life isn't challenging enough already, but sometimes I find myself search for blog entries and for subject for poems and stories. These journaling contests get me out of my rut and help me find new subjects and new approaches to old subjects.

I need to relax
Idál (Justice), 8 Asma (Names), 165 B.E. – Wednesday, August 27, 2008 about 5:32 PM Pacific Time
I need to relax. I need to take a one-day vacation and get away from everything. Unfortunately, that is not possible in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I will do the next best thing, I will put a long lasting light bulb in the light on my patio, fix myself an ice tea and sit on the patio, with my prayer book and journal.
I would like to go to one of the parks, but both the parks near to my house are closed at present. I have to drive across town to get to a park, which means planning more then just an hour. The closest park to the house is about an hour away. I have no intention of staying in the park for only an hour, when it takes me an hour to get there and an hour to get back home.
Maybe I can think of some other creative way to take a short vacation without getting out of Las Vegas. I will have to say some prayers about that. Writing usually helps me relax, but lately it seems the only writing I have done is my blogs, gratitude journal, and personal journal. Perhaps a new approach is called for.
I set my writing goals on a solar day, which is from sunset of one day to sunset of the next. Part of my writing goals is the amount of words I write in goal period. Perhaps, instead of doing a word count for each item as it is completed, I need to wait until the end of the goal period to do the word counts. Maybe, I am just being too obsessive about the word counts. At least it would be a different approach and get me out of my comfort zone.
Perhaps the vacation I need is to get out of my comfort zone. Do something different, something out of the ordinary. The one thing I am certain about, is that I need to relax and find a creative and inexpensive way to do it

I know better
‘Idál (Justice), 18 Kalimat (Words), 165 BE – Wednesday, July 30, 2008 about 7:44 AM PDT
I know better then to leave a blog entry for later in the day. If I do that there is about a 90% chance I am not going to get it written or posted. Life inserts itself into our plans. If the goal is to make a blog entry every day, then make the entry in the morning.
If something interesting happens during the day and I want to blog about it, I can make another entry. If I don't have time to make another entry that day, then I need to take notes about the event in my pen and paper journal.
I think I am going to have to start taking notes for blog entries anyway. I have a daily word count goal for each blog. If I make the minimum word count goal for each blog or piece of writing, then I am going to make the total daily word count goal. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is important to make the minimum goal because when I add all the minimums together they add up to the total.
In addition, if I set the goal to write and post in the morning, it pushes me to to wait until I complete the entry to rewrite and polish. In the morning, I have only a specific amount of time to write. I can write a blog entry in about thirty minutes, with spelling corrections included. However, I cannot stop and make corrections while I am composing the entry. Once I complete the entry, with any additions and spelling corrections I need then I can post the entry and get on with the next item on my agenda.

I’m fighting the down feeling today
Kamál (Perfection), 14 Rahmat (Mercy), 165 BE – Monday, July 7, 2008 about 7:34 AM PDT
I'm fighting the down feeling today. I'm not sure why I'm feeling down, but I'm feeling that way. There could be several reason's I'm feeling that way, none of which I'm ready to list at this time. The problem is I can thank of too many reasons I'm down. It doesn't do any good to list them, because when I do that the list becomes endless. This morning I can't deal with an endless list of depressing items.
I find that if I write about the darkness then sometimes it goes away; that's why I have an off line journal called Writing My Spiritual Journey. However, this morning I've already made an entry in that journal, so I'm not going to make another entry until after I've completed all the writing goals or assignments for July 7, 2008. That's why I'm writing about being depressed in this entry. I usually don't write about being down in this blog.
Another thing I do when I'm feeling down is say prayers. I pray every day, of course, but when I'm down I make a special effort to say specific prayers. Most of the prayers are reveal by Baha'u'llah or The Bab, however, there is one prayer written by 'Abdu'l-Baha that I say. The prayer by 'Abdu'l-Baha has to do with laying everything in God's hand.
Prayer helps me when I'm down. Writing helps me when I'm down. Perhaps that's what I need to do. I need to list everything that helps when I'm down. Instead of listing an endless group of unhappiness, I need to list the things that give me happiness. I hadn't thought of that before, but that's why I make journal entries when I'm down. Writing helps me think. Writing changes my mood. Writing helps me focus. Writing, like prayer, assist in transformation or at least it does for me. Writing assist me to see where I need to change and the areas that need the most work.

What is your favorite room in your home and why?
Jamál (Beauty), 19 Jalál (Glory), 165 B.E. – Sunday, April 27, 2008 about 7:14 AM PDT
My favorite room is any room with a bookshelf or bookcase in it. I think that's why I prefer to have a books in every room of the house. A room with books is always decorated beautifully. In te kitchen I like to have cookbooks. In the dinning room I like to have poetry books. In the living room I like to have the sacred scriptures. In the bed room I like to have different types of books.
Books always make a good addition to any room in the house. You don't have to worry about matching colors or any other decorating concept. You just match the books with the room. You can even put books in the bathroom. In the bathroom, I like to have amusing books. You don't want books that make you think in the bathroom. The reason for this is that thought provoking books because you to stay longer in the bathroom then you want. Books that make you think should go in the living room.

Tomorrow I'm dong it again
‘Idál (Justice), 4 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 164 B.E. – Wednesday, March 5, 2008 about 4:00 PM PST
Well I'm doing it again, I'm participating in the Follow the Leader Journal contest on writing.com. I'm using my writin.com blog Snow Melt to write my leading entry and the responses to the other leading entries.
I'm not sure what the subject or theme of my leading entry is yet. I'm scheduled for March 10, so I suspect something will come up between now and then. Maybe I'll try something completely different this time. I have some books on journaling with a exercises I've wanted to try for a while. I'll check out those and see what I come up with. In the mean time the other leading entries should be very interesting.
I think I'll take an entirrly different approach to the contest this time around. Before I've simply read and responded to the entries without giving a lot of thought to them. I think this time before I write an response, I'll pray and meditate about what I'm going to write.
