Blessing or Curse

Memory can be
a blessing or a curse;
it depends on  us.

We can dwell
on bad recollections
and be unhappy.

Or we can
focus on good memories
and be happy.

in the hands of the Blessed Beauty,
reading the revealed Words of the Almighty,

Happy Friday! 

It rained last night 

Clearing the air 

And making breathing easier. 

Happy Friday! 

It rained this morning 

Cooling the air 

And making it a pleasant day 

To write poetry about the rain. 

If You're Happy

If you're happy 

And you know it 

Go out and spread the cheer. 

Happiness isn't much fun 

Unless it is shared 

With the rest of the human race. 

If you're happy 

Say a prayer of gratitude 

And go make someone else happy.

Happy Monday, Busy Monday

My morning begin with a cup of cold coffee. When I went into the kitchen to make the coffee this morning, I found leftover coffee in the coffee maker's glass carafe. I poured the coffee into my cup and drink it while I was making this morning's fresh coffee. I didn't want to throw the coffee out and I didn't want to heat it up in the microwave, so I drink it.

Today is going to be busy because I have to pick up my senior commodities for this month. I also have some writing projects to finish before Friday and Saturday. I also have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday. I'm not planning to go any where special for the rest of the week. I'm not going to participate in Black Friday this year, but then I never participate in Black Friday. About the only thing I might do Friday is get gas and only then if I don't do it on Tuesday.

A Happy Monday
is always a busy day
take action to stave off depression.

This morning I let grumpy sleep

I woke up happy
and let grumpy sleep today
Saturday is good.

On normal mornings, it takes me several prayers and large mugs of coffee for me to see the beauty of a new day. This morning I wake up happy and let grumpy sleep. I prefer to wake up happy because it begins the day joyous and positive.

A Happy Monday Morning in Las Vegas

Monday and happiness normally do not go together. We consider Monday the first day of the workweek and so it is called "Blue Monday". However, this morning it is "Happy Monday", at least for me.

I went out to get the paper and I heard a Nightingale singing. I am not sure where the nest is located, perhaps in the neighbor's oak tree. The only nests in my trees this year are mourning dove nest. I did not hear the mourning doves, but I went out later then normal to pick up the paper. The mourning doves usually call at dawn they greet the rising sun.

Happiness is a spiritual attribute and material items produce temporary happiness. Happiness comes when a person focuses her mind and thoughts other things beside material possessions and acquisitions. My focus this morning is the nightingale's beautiful song and therefore I am happy.
