Of the 200 poems dedicating to the Blessed Beauty, I have 113 finished. I have 87 poems
to finish in 76 days which means I have to write 1 or 2 poems a day to
finish by October 22. I think that is a strong motive to write poetry.
If I encounter writer's stress or writer's block
because of the deadline, I will say prayers or meditate. That usually
helps. Another thing that helps is taking a short walk in the morning or
the evening. Since it's summer time, I prefer to walk of a morning when
it's cooler.
This afternoon was motivated to finish some paperwork, so that I can get it in the mail on Tuesday. The paperwork is finished, in a properly addressed envelope, stamped, and waiting for me to either take it across the street to put in the outgoing mail or lay it by the door so I can take it out tomorrow when the postal delivery person comes. Considering the temperature right now, I may do the latter.
I
also finished three more poems dedicated to the Blessed Beauty. I am
attempting to write 200 before October 22, which is the bicentenary of
the Birth of Baha'u'llah. So far, I have 60 ideas or themes for the
poems with approximately 35 finished. I should have between 40 and 45
finished by Friday, July 21. I am not going to worry about rewriting
until I have all the poem finished because it does not help my muse if I attempt to rewrite a group of poems before I have completed the entire group.
My poetry goal to write 200 poem dedicated to the Blessed Beauty (Baha'u'llah) by October 22, 2017. According to my calculations (with the help of a calendar and a calculator)
that is approximately 127 days from today. I am posting this goal in
this blog because I need to hold myself accountable, and I have found
the best way to do that is to make my goal public instead of keeping it a
secret. This way I can write a blog entry once a week about how I am
progressing with this goal.
