Saturday Review: A Very Good Week

It's been a very good week for writing and reviewing. I wrote two St.  Patrick's Day limericks, which is as close as I come to celebrating St. Patrick's Day. I started a short story for a contests plus I responded to several blog prompts. This weekend I have to finish a newsletter and the story I started. I'm not sure if that is all I have to do this weekend. I'll find out as the days pass. 

Monday is the vernal equinox. The first day of spring is always nice. It is also Naw-Ruz the New Year that I celebrate. Therefore, after I finish the newsletter, I'll write a Dear Me letter to myself in one of my online journals. Other than that I'm planning to relax and take a short walk on Saturday and Sunday sometime. 

Saturday Review of My Week

It's been an interesting week. I got behind on some writing project which I caught up in a single day. The maintenance man came yesterday and fixed the hole in my wall. He also took measurements of the bedroom doors so they can be replaced. He is supposed to be back sometime next week to replace the light bulbs and fix the fan in the bathroom.

Today I wrote a story and submitted it to a contest on writing.com. I still have a poem and another story to write. I will finished one of them tonight (I hope). I don't want to get behind again because it stresses me and I think it might raise my blood pressure. I'm not sure about the blood pressure, so I think the next time I go into Smiths Food and Drug store I will check it in there.

I also made soup this week. I warmed the soup up today for lunch and dinner. I think I may have enough left to eat it tomorrow. I live alone so when I cook soup or rice I have enough to feed me for two or three days..I guess I better post this and get on with the rest of my writing or housework whichever I intend to do this afternoon.

Saturday Review: I am changing the way I purchase paper towels and toilet paper

I used to be one of those people who purchased only national or name brand toilet paper and paper towels. If I had coupons I would use coupons, but I would always buy a name brand, but not any more. For the second time in two or three months, I downloaded e-coupons to my shopper's card for both paper towels and toilet paper. When I got to the supermarket and looked at the prices, I decided it was cheaper to purchase the store brand without a coupon then it was to purchase the name brand with a coupon.

I purchased a package containing three rolls of paper towels, a 4-roll package of toilet paper, and one box of facial tissue for less then $4.00 without coupons. I am no longer going to download coupons to my shopper's card for either paper towels or toilet paper because I will not use them. I will get to the store, look at the prices, and decide to purchase the store brand instead of the national brand.

I might use paper coupons for these items, but only if I think the savings is worth the hassle of clipping the coupons, carrying them to the store, and comparing the prices. Otherwise I will continue to purchase the store or some other generic brand of paper towels and toilet paper. Why spend a lot of money for something you are just going to flesh down the drain or throw in the dumpster?

Saturday Review: An Interesting Week

At the end of an interesting week, I contemplate my accomplishments. I have not accomplished as much as I wanted to, but that is normal. I did get some things accomplished and I am going to get more accomplished this week end. On Friday I went to Smith's Food & Drug store to purchase some food. I specifically went to purchase eggs and fully cooked turkey breakfast sausages. I also purchased a package of frozen turkey burgers, which are quite tasty when you put hot pepper sauce on them.

At the end of an interesting week, I am attempting to think of ways to eat dry cereal. I think I will try something creative with the cereal on Sunday. Fix me an egg, a sausage, and a bowl of cereal with applesauce instead of milk. I do not care much for milk on cereal anymore. Maybe I will try coffee on my cereal instead of applesauce or milk and see how that tastes.

At the end of an interesting week I am looking for creative ways to eat cereal. I do not care to eat cereal for breakfast, but I do like cereal. Perhaps I will use it as a snack tomorrow instead of having crackers and cheese. I quit eating sugar on my cereal years ago and I am now on the way to cutting out milk on my cereal. My mother ate dry cereal without milk or anything on it for breakfast, but I have not tried that yet. Perhaps tomorrow with my sausage and eggs.

Saturday Review of My Week: Encountering a few Senior Moments

It's been a stressful week, which may explain the senior moments I've encountered. The other possibility is that I didn't print off a To Do List, which I will do for the up coming week. I have to print off a print off a To Do List for the Week of November 17-23 otherwise I'm going to forget something. As it is, I'm not sure what I forgot this week.

I didn't realize I had been forgetting stuff until I go an e-mail message in my writing.com e-mail box about the Senior Center November contest. I had the check the forum because I couldn't remember if I entered a poem. When I checked, I found I had entered the poem Giving Thanks.

The only things I'm sure I haven't for got to do this week was write at least 1,667 words a day on Midnight in Suburbia. my NaNoWriMo novel for 2013. I also managed to achieve most of the goals I posted on writing.com, but that was only because I was keeping track of them in one of the journals I keep, in my portfolio, on that website. I obviously need to start keeping track of everything I want to accomplish and accomplish in a single week. I can do this when I print off a To Do List each day of the week.

Saturday Review of Today Saturday, September 14, 2013

I ate a well balanced breakfast this morning, which consisted of iced coffee, one of three donuts,  and mixed fruit. Then I went to the bank because I wanted to make a deposit, since the ATM was not working I went inside the bank. Yes, I know I could have go to the drive through, but that is automated and I can never get close enough to the machine to do a transaction from my car.Since I would have to get out of the car to do the transaction anyway, I went inside. I made the deposit and left the bank.

My next, and last, stop was at Smith's Food and Drug where I purchased some needed supplies and a container of Ovaltine. On Thursday, I downloaded an e-coupon to my customer rewards card for this chocolate delight. I bought only the items I intended to purchase, I started to go to a regular checkout; however, only one available had a line. I went to the self-checkout station. I am happy to say that I did not require the assistance of an attendant. I checked my groceries out, paid with my debit card, and came home.

This was a good day. I bought my groceries. I downloaded driver for my printer. I posted to my writing.com blog. I am posting to this blog before sunset. I am contented. I could say that I am happy. At this moment, I enjoy living in Las Vegas and I could not have asked for a better day. I think I am finally getting used to spending Saturday's by myself.
