Why Worry

Why are you worrying,
just place the problem
in the Hands of God,
the All-Sufficing.

Overcoming Worry

Intone the prayers of salvation,
Place all your troubles in the hands
Of the Glory of God,
And listen to the voice of faith,
Whispering "All is well!"
Or "It's going to be alright!"

I, also, posted this poem in the journal Writing in Snow, in the folder Awardicon Items, in my writing.com portfolio.

Dissipating Worry

Weary of worry
I intone God’s Most Great Name
Dark clouds dissipate.

I also posted this in the journal Writing in Snow, under the folder Awardicon Items, on my writing.com blog. I am Prosperous Snow or, until my birthday on December 24, Prosperous Snow Globe.

On the Last Sunday in August 2016

Jamál (Beauty), 10 Asmá’(Names), 173 BE - Sunday, August 28, 2016 AD about 11:45 AM Pacific Daylight Time

It's the last Sunday in August 2016 and a scripture verse keeps running through my mind. It's a verse revealed by Baha'u'llah and it goes like this "He who put his trust in God, God shall suffice him; He who fears God, God shall send him relief." I've memorized this verse because it helps alleviate worry and I'm a worrier. If I don't keep my mind focused I worry about everything and anything. This scripture by Baha'u'llah reminds me that I don't have anything to worry about because my life is in God's hands.

I usually worry most at the end of the month. After an hour or so of meditation and contemplation, I realized the reason. Most of my bill are due the beginning or the middle of the month which means that sometime I have to scrape to get the money to pay the bills that hit the checking account. This is especially true for the next couple of months. I'll have enough to cover the bills coming out the first half of the month, but it's the bills that are due the last half that I suspect, but I don't know for sure, that will be the problem.

Right now, I'm not as worried as I was this morning when I got up. The first reason I'm not worried now is the prayer reveal by Baha'u'llah. The second reason is that I written down my worries. Prayer and writing my worries always help in two ways. First they place everything in God's hands. Second, writing my problems and worries helps discover a solution.

Tuesday Thoughts: Stop Fooling around and get busy

Fiḍál (Grace), 10 Sulṭán (Sovereignty), 170 BE - Tuesday, January 28, 2014 about 12:03 pm Pacific Standard Time

It's Tuesday afternoon, I have to stop fooling around and get busy. I haven't wasted the entire morning, but I haven't accomplished as much as I'd like. I still have to finish cleaning off one of the desk I'm taking with me when I move, which (I hope and pray) will be by the end of this month.

Time stands still
movement is thwarted
I feel
as if I am floating
in limbo.

I know that part of the problem is not feeling good or perhaps that is worrying. There is a worry lurking in the back of my mind and it won't let me focus on what I have to do. I'm not sure I can even name the anxiety that is hiding there, but I can feel it. It's like a cancer eating away at my peace of mind and curtailing my accomplishments. Therefore, I'm going to post this entry and then finish cleaning off the desk before I do anything else on line.

Why am I worried?

Kamál (Perfection), 17 ‘Alá’ (Loftiness), 169 BE - Monday, March 18, 2013 about 10:30 AM Pacific Time

Why am I worried? I think I did everything I could, so now I just have to wait for the agency I contacted to call me, but I am still worried. Why am I worried? I am worried because of the electric bill. Specifically, I am worried about the power company turning off the electricity.

I contacted the proper agency, which help senior citizens with these problems. No one has gotten back to me yet; however, it may be that they still need to process my information. I hope they get back to me before March 21 because that is the deadline to pay t he bill. I put the request in online (which is the only way those request are taken). I returned the e-mail application the agency sent me and now I am waiting for a phone call to let me know when my appointment is scheduled.

I know I should have contacted the agency earlier; however, I did not, so I just have to deal with the consequences of my actions and of being financially poor. In the mean time, I cannot focus on the worry because it will hide any other actions I can take. In addition, I will work online while I still have electricity and an internet connection. I will also pray, because prayer will assist in finding any other solution available.

I am a World Class Worrier

Jamál (Beauty), 13 ‘Azamat (Grandeur), 168 BE – Sunday, May 29, 2011 about 12:54 PM Pacific Time

I took Parade’s quiz “Are you a world-class worrier?” My score was 77%, which confirms what I already suspected. I am a word-class worrier! I can see the worst-case scenario on a clear blue sky. In the sport of worrying, I am a professional athlete. My list of worst-case scenarios is infinite.

Since worry causes stress, I need to come up with a plan to stop worrying. I need to take a deep breath and remember what a friend once told me. She said that the things she worried about never happened. The things she never worried about and never thought to worry about occurred. I have to remember this when my worst-case scenarios rear their ugly heads, invade my mind, and cause my dark brown hair to turn white with stress.

Stress interferes with the solution to the problem. If I am worrying about something that may never happen, I cannot solve the immediate problem. I suggest that anyone who worries about anything go to the Parade website and take the test. This test is fun and educational and it will give you an idea of the type of worrier you are.
