Tuesday Thoughts on my upcoming outpatient surgery

I finally found out what is wrong with my legs. It turns out that I have a problem with my veins and the blood is pooling in my lower legs. This is what caused the sores on my left leg, which was spreading to my right leg. I have an ultrasound of my legs last week and a follow up this week.

My veins are not working properly, which causes the blood to pool in the lower legs. I have to have an outpatient surgical procedure to correct the issue. I am not sure precisely when this procedure will occur, probably sometime in February.

I know that the procedure will occur on a Monday. I know this because the surgical center that performs these procedures does so on Monday and Thursday. I have chosen the doctor and the day all that is left is the specific date. I will know the date as soon as my insurance approves the procedure.

As I wrote, the procedure will be done on a Monday. The following Thursday, I will go in for an ultrasound. This is to make sure there are no blood clots. As soon as I find out the date, I will update the information by making another blog entry.

It looks like a cloudy afternoon

The afternoon is turning out to be cloudy. Of course, I didn't look at the news or weather this morning, so I don't know the forecast for today. I didn't even get my intermind.net e-mail checked this morning. Mom and I left the house sometime between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM to go to Desert Springs Hospital.

Mom had outpatient surgery. The doctor opened the blocked tear duct in her left eye. Tomorrow she has an appointment to see the doctor at 9:45 AM. In addition, we have to pick up some prescriptions that Walgreens before we go to the doctor.

I still have to check both my yahoo.com and intermind.net e-mail before I go to bed tonight. I may not go to bed at all, but just stay up and get caught up on the writing today's adventure prevented me from completing. I also have research to do for two items I'm working on; oh well, someone once told me that sleep is over-rated. I'm beginning to think he was right.

Maybe its the fact that I don't sleep the same as I did when I was younger. Used to I could stay up all night and once my head hit my pillow I'd fall asleep. Now, I can fall asleep on my keyboard, but if I get up to go to bed I can't sleep. I toss and turn, look out the window and count the number of times the metro helicopter flies over the neighborhood without going to sleep.

Perhaps I'll just lay down on the love seat and go to sleep. I can fall asleep either lying down or sitting up on the love seat without any problem. However, if I get up and go to my own bed then I'm wide awake.

My Mother’s upcoming Outpatient surgery

April is looking like a very busy month for my mother and myself. On April 1, we have an appointment about 12:00 with a veterinarian. On April 30, my mother has outpatient surgery scheduled. Mom has a blocked tear duct in her left eye that needs unblocking, so she is having the surgery on the last day of April.

Mom had a cataract in her right eye taken care of the the first week of March. In fact, she has an appointment to see the doctor for a follow-up on that next Monday. Then I work the primary elections polls on Tuesday. All so, April 15 is tax deadline day and I'm not at all sure what I'm going to do.

I've tried doing my taxes myself for the past couple of years, but this year I'm just going to go up the IRS office and talk to them. I know that I'll have to wait in line for a while, but that all right. I've waited in line so much lately that I've started carrying a puzzle book with me as well as my pen and paper journal.

I do Sudoku puzzles, I find them both relaxing and challenging at the same time. I bought a Sudoku puzzle book last week. I won't buy another book until I've filled out all the puzzles in this one. I'm not sure how long it will take me, not vary long if I have to wait for a long time.

I also carry a reading book with me so that I have more then one thing to do if I have to wait a long time. Perhaps that's why my purse is so heavy. If I carried fewer books in it wouldn't weigh very much at all.
