The Last Sunday in March 2014

It is after sunset on the last Sunday in March. This morning the wind blew so hard that it sent litter blowing down the street and making all sorts of weird noises. The wind woke me up, so I suppose it means that March is going out like a lion.

According to weather.com, the wind was 10 mph. I think it sounded like it was blowing faster then that, but I did not go outside until about 11:00 am and the wind had calmed down a little. According to tomorrow's forecast the wind is supposed to reach 26 mph which should make carrying trash to the alley interesting.

March: A lion or a lamb?

The wind is blowing this afternoon, but it is not roaring. March is not going out like a lion nor did it come in like a lion. March came in more like a disgruntled sheep then anything else. All month, the weather in Las Vegas has range from cool to nice; it never got too hot or too cold.
The wind blew, but not so bad that it knocked down trees . The wind blew hard enough to scatter trash along the side of the road, but not so hard as to get plastic trash bags caught in trees or oleander bushes. There were clouds, there was a bit of rain (at least, I remember finding a puddle in my driveway one morning).
All month the birds have sung and flitted from tree to tree. I just looked out my living room window and saw two bird flying across the sky. There is also a cloud that looks like a skeleton walking across the sky. That is the only clouds I see this afternoon. There is a strong breeze blowing because I see the limbs on the olive trees and pine tree waving. It is a nice day in Las Vegas.

March 2009 Going out Like a Lion

March 2009 is going out like a Lion. Yesterday, in Las Vegas, we had wind gusting up to 50 MPH. The wind has died down today, as I look out my living room window I watch the limbs of the stone pine tree moving sluggishly, so there only a light breeze blow this morning.
The weather report call for lighter winds for the next few days, but then the wind picks up again. I'm not sure about April showers yet, because I don't remember the weather man on Channel 3 in Las Vegas mentioning anything except wind. Of course, after yesterday's winds anything else would be an anti-climax. Three window washers were rescued by the Las Vegas fire department on Thursday, March 26, because of the wind. The window washers received some injuries, but otherwise all right.
