On Friday, December 23, I hurt my right knee (again). I felt a sharp pain and began limping. I don’t know how I hurt my knee, I have osteoarthritis in that knee so almost anything will cause knee pain. Anyway, my knee has been stiff ever since.
As soon, as a finish dealing with the issue of my left leg; I will talk to my doctor about the right knee. At this point, I can deal with only a few things at a time. Today my knee is feeling better.

Osteoarthritis of the Knee
‘Idál (Justice), 19 Núr (Light), 167 BE – Wednesday, June 23, 2010 about 9:23 AM Pacific Time
I have osteoarthritis in my right knee. The pain, to some degree, is always present. It is difficult to do housework, to stand for a long time, to sit for a long time, to walk, etc. I still do those things; it is just that I have difficulty doing them because of the osteoarthritis.
I have found, that when I sweep or mop, I have to sit down for a few minutes afterwards until the pain becomes less. It never really goes away, but it does retreat to background noise for a little while. Once the pain retreats, I go back to sweeping, to mopping, or to whatever I was doing.
As you can imagine, I do not get a lot of sleep at night. The reason for this is pain. When I move my knee, it hurts and the pain wakes me up. Under these conditions, I do not accomplish very much. Eventually, I will get everything done; it is just going to take me a while to do it.
I have an appointment on June 30 concerning treating the osteoarthritis. I have to do something, I am tired of the pain and I am tired of its effect on my life. I want to enjoy life again.

Tomorrow is Laundry Day
Jalál (Glory), 15 Núr (Light), 167 BE – Saturday, June 19, 2010 about 5:42 PM Pacific Time
Tomorrow is laundry day, but I am only going to wash two or three baskets of cloths instead of four or five. Four laundry baskets will fit in the backseat of my Kia; however, I have to make four trips to get the basket into the laundromat.
The way my right knee has felt lately, I don't think making more then three trips into the laundromat, carrying a basket of cloths each time, is a good idea. Perhaps this is a triumph for the process of transformation; I am learning to work with my physical weaknesses instead of against them. Two baskets will hold the cloths that Mom and I need for the next couple of days. I can make another trip to the laundromat on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The temptation not to write
Istijlál (Majesty), 10 ‘Izzat (Might), 165 B.E. – Thursday, September 18, 2008 about 4:26 PM Pacific Time
I'm almost tempted not to make an entry, but if I don't I know I'll regret it. That's part of the process of transformation. Learning what you will regret if you don't do it. The only topic I have for a blog entry is my car. The mechanic put in a new radiator and hoses today. He also washed the car.
I'm weary and on the verge of tears myself, but I think I'm still recovering from yesterday. When I got off work, I walked to Food 4 Less to get some oil and dishwashing liquid. I needed the oil in order to drive the car to the mechanic this morning. I'm going to have to keep the 1991 Toyota running because I can't afford a new car. Let's face it, sometimes I'm lucky to afford the gas for the car.
However, I'm getting too old to walk from work, to the store and home again. It takes too much out of me. So I have to keep the car going, otherwise I'm walking. Even if I took the city bus, I'd still have to walk to the bus stops. One bus stop is ten blocks away and another is five. Both are too far to walk with my right knee the way it is.
