I went shopping this morning. I stopped at two stores and then came back home. I went to Walgreen's because I had a $25.00 gift card I earned from doing surveys. When I requested the gift card I knew what I was going to purchase and knew that the package would cost between $19.00 and $22.00.
The item I purchased, Walgreen's disposable protective underwear, cost $21.99. This meant that I could purchase one more small item, so I bought the Nice 8" Coffee Filters for $1.69. This brought my total up to $25.60, but since I had $3.00 cash in my purse it did not matter.
My next stop was Smith's Food and Drug Store for coffee, bread, and peanut butter. I also bought Hostess Twenkies©, a couple of packages of turkey franks, honey barbecue sauce, and some horseradish mustard. These were the only things I purchased at Smith's, but since I had enough on the debit card I use to purchase food I did not worry about the price. However, before I go to the store again next Friday or Saturday I will have to check the balance on that card.
I think I like going to the store on Saturday morning rather then on Friday because there are fewer people shopping. The only thing I have to contend with in the stores on Saturday are the employees restocking the shelves. I don't mind dealing with shelves being restocked because the employees are nice and helpful. At least at the Smith's and Walgreen's I go to.

Summer has arrived in Las Vegas

Summer arrived yesterday, so the days are getting shorter instead of longer. The length of the daylight hours does not matter that much because there is never enough time to accomplish everything I have or want to do. I have to pick the projects I complete in a day, at least that way I can get a few things completed.
Yesterday, I completed an essay, submitted the essay to a contest, and went through part of an evaluation for a medical study. Today, I have to pick up a prescription from Walgreens, post to each of my blogs, and figure out why my kitchen counter is so crowded. I also have to set up another spreadsheet in my budget book because we (Mom and I) can get a grant for someone to come in and stay with Mom.
Tomorrow, someone is coming to give me an estimate on remodeling Mom's bathroom and putting in a walk-in or handicap accessible shower. I do not know where the money is going to come from, but I am not going to worry about that until I know how much it is going to cast. I have already had one estimate and I know I cannot afford that estimate, but hope springs eternal even in summer.

Behind and catching up

I'm behind and catching up. I won't get caught up on everything today, but I can get caught up on some of the stuff. This week we've left the house everyday for something and we've been gone for several hours at a time.
Today I have to pick up my meds at Food 4 Less, Mom's meds at Walgreen's and then go to The Home Depot. While I'm at Food 4 Less I need to get some groceries because we're out of salt and I need salt to rinse my mouth. I think I'll also get some liquid fabric softener because we're not using an electric dryer anymore. When you hang cloths outside you need to use liquid fabric softer.
At The Home Depot I have to get cement for a post hole. When I got the outdoor dryer, I neglected to read the directions before I left the store, otherwise I would have gotten the cement then. Since I'm going there I will see if I can get a real mop bucket. I'm not sure what else I'll get while I'm there perhaps a mop to go with the bucket.
