My last Doctor’s Appointment

At my last appointment, the Doctor said my blood test looked good, so she gave me a 90-day supply of meds with three refills. She said I did not have to make another appointment until August of 2012. This is nice; because that is one thing, I will not have to worry about. In addition, I had lost four pounds.

I turn 65 in December and go on Medicare. I have picked a Medicare Advantage plan and a new Doctor. I have to have my first Medicare physical in December or January. I am going to make an appointment in December with the new Doctor. Even though my present Doctor said I did not need an appointment until next year, there is no use putting off Medicare appointment because I have to have a mammogram in December or January.

I think my last mammogram was in December 2010. Therefore, I need to get one this year. I have my Medicare Advantage card in my purse; the only thing I have to do now is make the appointment. I am looking forward to meeting my new Doctor.

I received my Medicare card today. The effective date is not until December 1, 2011, but the time will pass quickly. The first thing I have to do is sit down and read the booklet that came with the card. I glanced through the book while I waited for my mother to come home from adult daycare, but I did not have the time to read it carefully.

Friday I have an appointment to investigate a Medicare Advantage Plan. I need to read the booklet carefully before then. I also need to write down some questions to ask at the seminar on August 19.

Turning that Golden number in December

I am turning 65 on December 24 and able to receive Medicare. I have struggled for several years because of medical cost. I have not had medical insurance because I could not afford it. That did not prevent me from going to a doctor when necessary. It made getting medication more difficult.

I am looking into Medicare supplement or advantage plans. I do not know which on I will chose. I made two appointments for seminars to investigate the plans. I will look at them and see which one fits my circumstances. I am not sure what each of the different plans entail, but I will find out.

I am looking forward to this process. I am looking forward to this adventure. I know that sounds strange, but that is how I feel. Perhaps it is the idea of doing something completely different from my normal routine. Sometimes my normal routine is boring and encourages rut getting deeper and deeper. I have to look at my dresses and see what I have to wear to the seminars.
