I Weep

I read the local, 

The national, 

The international news 

And I weep. 

I cry for the heartlessness 

Revealed in the treatment 

Of women, 

Children, 

And men 

Because they are 

From different countries, 

Profess a different religion, 

Or are considered 

One of Them 

Instead of one of Us.
