Free Verse Poem for Valentine's Day 2018

Happy Valentine's Day, 

From a nonperson. 

No, 

I am not a robot, 

I am single on Valentine's Day, 

And, therefore, I am a nonperson, 

Because, as everyone knows, 

Single people do not exist on Valentine's Day. 

Am I jealous? 

Maybe. 

Am I cynical? 

Possibly. 

Am I bitter? 

I will answer this question 

After I have written 

A bitter love poem. 

Free Style not Free Verse Poetry

Lately, I've found myself writing a lot of free style poetry. What is free style poetry? It is similar to free verse except that it has rhyme, that appears to be random. Sometimes the rhyming words are random, but many time they are deliberate. They are deliberate because they emphasize the theme or the subject. 

I stare at the screen 

And the words go out of my mind. 

I try to type, 

But writer's block makes me gripe.
